We are delighted… no… we are totally thrilled and humbled to be nominated for the Eventprofs Awards 2010 in the Best Corporate Blog category. These awards are the brainchild of Lara McCulloch who is the CEO of the special events industry’s highest ranked independent blog and is also the foundof the #Eventprofs on Twitter.

Surprisingly there have only been two major events ever staged within the legendary Angkor Wat site. A national event staged in 2002 with star tenor Jose Carreras – and eight years later with this memorable and awe inspiring corporate event produced by the FACTOR168 Creative Event Company.

One thing that we find is very popular when producing business events throughout Asia is the popularity of the Boutonniere. The what? It’s French for a bloke’s corsage… usually a single flower or bud worn in the lapel buttonhole of a suite. The buttonhole that is the same side as the pocket handkerchief. The handkerchief? Think ‘Mad Men’. Yes the white square.

awwww yeah…. sometimes you come across something that you just love and for me it is the indie band Dancing Pigeons with their song ‘Ritalin’. Now I have to confess, it is the video clip that hooks me more than the actual song. To my precious easy listening ears it’s no Lionel Ritchie ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ that’s for sure.

Having recently finished a lengthy consultation engagement to refresh and restructure the Uniplan Hong Kong events business and provide leadership to their Greater China group, FACTOR168 Creative Event Company founding partner Darren Kerr was asked which project left the biggest impression. He nominated an international media event on behalf of the Walt Disney Company in Korea.
