I suspect the popularity of the yellow legal pad and the Moleskine is the seemingly romantic connotations they associate with the act of scribing, scribbling,  writing, and creating. True but I do draw the line at quills.

There are a number of different ‘tools’ we like to carry with us during our day – from meeting to meeting and from gig to gig. A smart phone with GPS on-board, a collection of black ink grip Sharpie pens, a charged iPod, a head full of event ideas, and a Moleskine to keep track…

The George Costanza character from ‘Seinfeld’ fame often declared that he worked for imaginary Vandelay Industries. To keep sparking the imagination, another namesake Vandelay Designs declared the FACTOR168 website as a top 40 inspiring design. ‘Not that there is anything wrong with that!’ Thank you Vandelay. Well today it’s my birthday (cue fanfare music sting and dancing girls…. and… go sting …go girls) and I thought I’d share a guilty pleasure with you. You’ll like it. I promise. No not that one… nor the one with the Salsa dipping sauce and Mojo Webb soundtrack… no. It is my Finnish pleasure.

Sometimes the best experiences are the simplest.  When traveling some time back from San Diego to New Orleans, I was dumbfounded by the huge menus presented to my at the various diners, cafes, hole-in-the-walls, and Texas BBQ roadhouses along the way. Much like America – the menus were over the top in terms of choice.
